It is with great sadness that we inform you that our pastor,
Fr. Lee Saloy passed away yesterday, Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 9:45pm.
 
Please keep his immediate family and the St. Philip Neri Parish family in your prayers.
 
Visitation and Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 7, 2011

Visitation will be from 8:00am - 11am and the Funeral Mass will be at 11am
 
 
  Rev. Lee John Saloy, died peacefully on March 31, 2011.

 
 
  Fr. Saloy was born on August 19, 1946 in New Orleans, LA.  He was the son of the late Robert Lee and Leah Verlinde Saloy.  He is survived by his Cousin, June Norman (Husband: Leslie) and their children: Paul Norman, Jan Brill, Karen Carol, Eric Norman and Kirk Norman and their children.

Fr. Saloy attended St. Raphael elementary school, St. Joseph Seminary for secondary education and some college before entering Notre Dame Seminary.  He was ordained to the priesthood on January 15, 1972 by Archbishop Philip Hannan.  He served as assistant at St. Leo the Great Parish, New Orleans, from 1972 to 1977, assistant at St. Francis Xavier, Parish, Metairie, from 1977 to 1982.  Fr. Saloy was named administrator at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Arabi, in February 1982, and then as pastor from September 1982 to July 1991.  He has served as pastor at St. Philip Neri Parish, Metairie, since July 6, 1991.  Father Saloy was chaplain at Cabrini High School from 1974 to 1977 and for the Serra Club of downtown New Orleans from 1976 to 1985.  He has faithfully served the Metropolitan Tribunal as Judge and Defender of the Bond since 1976.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at St Philip Neri Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue Metairie, LA.  Visitation: will be from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM  Funeral Mass: will take place at 11:00 AM.  Internment will follow at All Saint's Mausoleum.

Fr. Saloy was a dedicated priest, who devoted his life to serving the faithful of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and will surely be loved and missed by all who knew him.
