Working with Our Lady of
Guadalupe Parish in New Orleans, this
volunteer ministry cooks approximately 100
meals once a month on Friday at the St.
Philip Neri Parishioner’s Center kitchen.
The meals are transported to the St. Jude
Center on North Rampart Street on the second
Saturday of each month where it is served to
our homeless and needy guests. Our main
source of funding is donations from the
members of the St. Philip Neri Men’s Club.
In addition, some food is also donated by
local merchants. Our parish volunteers are
always impressed by the amount of verbal
appreciation that is expressed by those we
serve.
There is a current need for one or two men
who would be available to contribute about 8
hours of service each month.
